The Centro Intercultural de Documentación (CIDOC), founded initially as a missionary training center by Ivan Illich in Cuernavca, Mexico in 1961, transformed into an alternative free university in 1965 operating through 1976. Seminars were taught by Ivan Illich, John Holt, Everett Reimer, Paul Goodman, Paulo Freire, Ann Roy and other theoreticians of education and social change.
